“To encourage recruitment and retention of African-American physicians, and thereby help to eliminate health disparities, improve access to care, and improve the quality of life and medical care for people in the Oakland/San Francisco Bay Area”.
Purpose
PMF’s main purpose is to encourage the recruitment and retention of African-American physicians, and the betterment of health care for people in the Oakland/San Francisco Bay Area communities.
Goals
Our primary goal is to help increase the number of African-American physicians, residents & medical students in Alameda, Contra Costa, and San Francisco Counties, while helping to eliminate health disparities and improving the quality of life and medical care for patients.
Funders
The Physicians Medical Forum (PMF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization supported by a grant from Alta Bates/Summit Medical Center. PMF also receives grants from Wells Fargo, California Healthcare Foundation, and SGC Financial and Insurance Services.
