Congratulations to Dr. Alden McDonald and Stanford University Medical Partners on completing the inaugural Careers In Medicine Internship (CIM). Dr. McDonald also serves on the Board of Directors of the Physicians Medical Forum (PMF).
The CMI is a 6-week paid internship program for graduating high school seniors and first year college/university students (community college or 4-year), who come from underrepresented backgrounds in medicine and are interested in pursuing a career in medicine.
The CMI intends to provide students with a unique opportunity to have direct interaction and hands-on experience with experts in the field (in both clinical and administration settings).
- Rotations with physicians in different specialties (and in different clinical settings).
- Exposure to the work of the management services team at the University Medical Partners (UMP) Medical Group (and other administrative physician leaders).
- Series of speakers at weekly didactic sessions.
PMF is delighted that some our Doctors On Board Program students were accepted into this amazing paid internship program. Congratulations to DOB students Morayo Balogun, Stephan Jaskula-Gonzales and Stephanie Lawless (who was ill and unable to attend the luncheon), and the other students. PMF looks forward to partnering in the future.
